Operation Write Home : Card# 3-5

In scouring my scrap bin I found an old Doodlebug 4th of July designer paper and realized it would be perfect for making Operation Write Home cards!  I kept it relatively simple for these cards, using textured cardstock run through the Cuttlebug and shapes cut out with the Close To My Heart Cricut cartridges.  Avoiding glitter and sparkle pens is a challenge for me, but I've found the glaze pens sure help to add a little pop around the edges.

The "missing you" sentiment is from the Paper Smooches Circle of Honor stamp set where some of the proceeds from each sold set goes to Operation Write Home.

Operation Write Home - Card #2

Another card complete for Operation Write Home using the adorable Paper Smooches stamp set.  I had so much fun stamping my own designer background paper...I haven't done that in so long and once I started, I just couldn't stop.  I used a variety of ribbon, ric rac and even some denim behind the popped-up medallion.  The royal blue paper is embossed with little stars and everything is outlined in a glaze pen for some extra pop!  I'm so excited to be creating cards for such a worthy organization.  If you haven't checked them out yet, please do so...what a wonderful way we can contribute and give back to our military.

3-in-1 Challenge Card with a Bonus!

So after my Happy Mail Day earlier in the week, I decided it was time for some new cards and if I'm doing new cards I may as well do a challenge (or three)!  Obviously with the new Paper Smooches stamps I was inspired to complete their Trend Watch Challenge which was to use something clear, sheer or see through.  To complete that, I've used a clear acetate card base as well as sheer polkadot ribbon.  I also utilized a frame on the card front so you could see through to the hand-stamped inside.  All of the stamps are from the "Circle of Honor" and "Many Thanks" stamp sets by Paper Smooches.  Mojo Monday gave a cute sketch for this week's challenge.  I did leave a piece out because I didn't want to block the view of the inside, but this card is based on the sketch.  The Pink Elephant challenged to use textures this week so all of the cardstock (that is not stamped on) is the Criss-Cross Doodlebug texture from Bazzil, I also used the Cuttlebug to emboss stripes on the red frame and stars onto the blue tag.

The BONUS to the card is that it is for Operation Write Home, an incredibly worthy organization that provides handmade cards to United State troops so they may keep in touch and send cards home to loved ones.

I Adore Paper Smooches!

What a Happy Mail Day!!! So last week I ordered a few new stamp sets from Paper Smooches and I was so excited to not only receive FREE shipping, but a FREE stamp set and a percentage off my purchase.  I was super-duper excited when I received an email just hours after placing my order telling me my order had shipped!  Well when I opened my Paper Smooches envelope today I was super-duper-duper excited to find not only what I had ordered but bonus stamps too!  I really couldn't be happier.

Thank you Kim Hughes of Paper Smooches for my wonderful goodies, I can't wait to start using my new stamps!  If you're unfamiliar with Paper Smooches, please be sure to check them won't be disappointed.

August Goals

A new month and new goals...lots to do at LuckyBug Creations this month!  I mean, there's a new Close To My Heart Idea Book that went live yesterday --- I have four customers who are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their exclusive Artbooking Cricut Cartridge.   I've decided to do some give-aways for my LuckyBug Creations Facebook Fans too --- I have one on there right now that no one has claimed, so be sure to check it out in the photos section.  Something I'm super-excited about is donating to Operation Write Home, they provide handmade cards to military personnel for them to send back home to family and friends.  I also really want to add at least twenty new items to the LuckyBug Creations Etsy store this month!
